Our Work is Almost Complete
Tom Sears
Here it is December 1st and we only have 3 more sleeps. However, our work at the BCI orphanage continues and the fence is almost done. The children’s dormitory floor has been tiled and the painting is almost done. There is only about one more day of work there. We continue to work at Mr. Tohn’s VDCA school and will assign more resources to that. The group will re-unite later today when the travelers to Phnom Penh return from the visit to the Killing Fields Memorial and Khmer Rouge Prison. It will be interesting to hear their impressions. About half of us did not go because we had done that tour before. It has been great to have the weekend off and we have spent the time doing a bit of local shopping, reading and under the guidance of explorers Bob and Lynn found a fantastic roof top swimming pool and massage facility where we spent several enjoyable hours . The weather continues hot and muggy.
Today is also the Angkor Wat half marathon in which 2 young ladies from Milwaukee will participate. These girls are friends of Ronnie and have been working along side of us since they arrived more than a week ago. There will be over 4000 participants in this event which started at 6:30 this AM. Good luck Lisa and Julianne. Proceeds go to landmine victims in Cambodia.
