Safari Adventures.

We went on our first safari adventure in the afternoon of our first day  This was after we saw monkeys and about 19 elephants at the main gate. The park is called Tarangire and it is absolutly beautiful. Our lodge sits on a high ridge and you can see for miles. There is always elephants, giraffes, and lions in view. The next morning we left early at 6:30 am to try to see the animals before the heat. We where rewarded. First up was a large group of elephants, water bucks, impalas not far from our lodge. We actually had to stop the vehicle for the elephants to cross the road.

Then we went down by the river to try and find lions. (Simba) We spotted a lion cub playing on the road. Then we spotted 6 more and then the mother lion. What a sight. We watched this scene for about 3/4 of an hour. After lunch we went out again just before supper and we saw giraffes, ostriches and lots of birds. This morning we where rewarded with a pair of owls, vultures, a serval cat and of course elephants.

We were on the move again today returning to civilization. We were traveling down the safari road enjoying our last time looking for elephants when we got too close to a tree when a sqirrel jumped in the drivers side window. After a little screaming by me, as I was nearest the driver. We all got out of the truck, and after much persuasion by the driver the squirrel jumped out. Then we were on our way to Arusha. We stay here one night and we are flying to Mwanza tomorrow. On to Ukrewe on Sunday. Having a great time. Teresa
