One More Goal Achieved

Ronnie took Diane, Margaret & I back to the rural Health Clinic this morning, to deliver the 2 items on their Wish List–a glucometer & a standing, adjustable lamp for their delivery room. Group 1’s two nurses showed the process of using the glucometer to the Administrator, who will probably be the main person to do the blood sugars.

The midwife was more than pleased with the new lamp, which Jim managed to find in a local electrical supply store. (At first, we were told that we’d have to go to Phnom Penh for medical equipment.) The glucometer came from a phamacy in Siem Reap, too. Ronnie contributed a BP cuff & stethoscope, & Margaret gave them some latex gloves from her supplies.

All was bought with money left over from our weekend trip to Battambang, so the gift was from the whole group.
