This is a small orphanage that cares for 25 children and has become part of our outreach program here in Cambodia . Seldom have we ever seen a group of happier , active children who are so well cared for given their circumstances.

This weekend, we ventured on a 3-hour journey to Battambang in two vans.  On Saturday morning, we visited a small rural town where many of the people had not seen foreigners.  Lisa McCoy was our guide for the weekend and was instrumental in organizing all of the activities.  Our first stop was to distribute school supplies (books, pens, erasers and rulers) to a local school in one of the villages. 

On Friday, BTC was officially inaugurated by the monks. This was a neat experience and it reminded me of when a priest blessed the house we just build in Madras, India. However, this Khmer tradition was much more elaborate. In the morning, the staff got the auditorium ready by laying mats of the floor and filling vases with fresh flowers. The kitchen staff started work early as well and were preparing breakfast for the nuns and the monks.
