Team Tanzania – Ready to go! January 11 – 15, 2013

Bags are packed (mostly), and the plans are in place for the 8th District 7070 Sweat Equity trip to Tanzania.  Seven enthusiastic volunteers, including two youth, are heading out with the team this year. We are continuing to focus on two communities, Kilema/Moshi in the Kilimanjaro Region and Nansio on Ukerewe Island in Lake Victoria.  In Kilema/Moshi we will be working with local Rotarians to facilitate the ongoing delivery of medical equipment through 4 different Global Grants and review the progress on two District Grants that address water availability. In Nansio, we will be working with a new Rotary Club to help establish themselves in the community through facilitating a vision for the club.  We hope the ground work in Nansio will lead to a larger hands-on Sweat Equity Team working with Rotarians in the community in upcoming years.

We will try and update this blog on a regular basis, but as usual our connection to the outside world can be intermittent.
